Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green admitted that he intentionally tried to create a rift between Stephen Curry and Chris Paul, when Paul was still playing for the Los Angeles Clippers. Green shared this during a recent episode of “The Draymond Green Show,” where he discussed his unconventional motivation strategies.
Green explained that he felt the close relationship between Curry and Paul was detrimental to the team’s dynamics. Green believed that Paul’s influence over Curry could hinder the Warriors’ success.
“I hated CP man… I come in, and I’m watching him and Steph’s relationship, and I’m like, that ain’t going to work for us to be who we want to be — him being kind of your big bro…
So I started being messy in between and creating a rift because I’m like, I need this rift in order for us to be able to move ahead. They were super tight. I started intentionally creating a rift, because I felt like CP was using that to his advantage.” Green said.
