During a recent appearance on the “All The Smoke” podcast, former Chicago Bulls center Joakim Noah shared an epic Derrick Rose story from his retirement party.
Noah revealed that the Bulls franchise had supplied cheap liquor for his retirement celebration, which left him and his guests disappointed. However, Rose, Noah’s longtime teammate and friend, stepped in to save the moment without seeking any credit.
“Pooh (Rose) put the money out of his own pocket to get some better drinks,” Noah said. “He didn’t want any attention or credit for it. He just wanted to make sure everyone had a good time.”
Rose’s selfless act of kindness and generosity made a significant impact on Noah and the other guests, turning what could have been a lackluster event into a memorable and enjoyable celebration.
The gesture also speaks to Rose’s character and his commitment to his teammates, both on and off the court. Despite facing numerous challenges and injuries throughout his career, Rose has always shown a deep sense of loyalty and respect for those who have supported him.
