All good things come to an end eventually and so did Shaquille O’Neals incredibly impressive NBA Finals streak in 2021.
From 1984 to 2021, every single NBA Finals featured at least one player who was teammates with O’Neal, ending the streak at 37 years.
But you know what they say: the streak is dead, long live the streak… and that’s why we’ll now be following a new one.
Every NBA Finals since 1999 included one of Danny Green’s teammates. Here’s the list with at least one player in each year:
– Tim Duncan
– Shaquille O’Neal
– Shaquille O’Neal
– Shaquille O’Neal
– Tim Duncan, Tony Parker, Manu Ginobili
– Shaquille O’Neal
– Tim Duncan, Tony Parker, Manu Ginobili
– Shaquille O’Neal
– Tim Duncan, Tony Parker, Manu Ginobili
– Rajon Rondo
– Shannon Brown
– Shannon Brown
– LeBron James
– LeBron James
– LeBron James
– Every San Antonio Spur
– David Lee
– LeBron James
– Patrick McCaw
– Patrick McCaw
– Every Toronto Raptor
– Every Los Angeles Laker
– Bryn Forbes
– Derrick White
And there are pretty good odds for the streak to continue this year, too, if the Los Angeles Lakers, Philadelphia 76ers, Denver Nuggets, Boston Celtics or Miami Heat reach the Finals, it will continue for at least one additional year.
