Zach Randolph Faces Possible NBA Ban

Earlier this week, we reported that Sacramento Kings player Zach Randolph was arrested in Los Angeles.

During the process of arresting Randolph a disturbance was caused that required police to call for backup, according to TMZ Sports. The three people who were detainded, one of them being Randolph, apparently were part of an ugly scene, that ended up with six cop cars being vandalized (slashed tires and busted windows)

Also, according to TMZ Sports, the two-time All Star had the intent to sell, because of the large amount of marijuana in his possession.

If Randolph is convicted of the felony charge, he could be banned from the NBA.

Zach Randolph could face similar penalties ex-teammate O.J. Mayo received in terms of being banned from the NBA for violation of the league’s anti-drug policy.

The league’s collective bargaining agreement with the players’ association says a player will be dismissed and disqualified from the NBA if he is convicted of, or pleads guilty, no contest or nolo contendere to, a crime involving the felony distribution of marijuana.

After Randolph’s arrest, his agent released a statement claiming that the charges are false and misleading. We’ll have to wait and see what happens.
