Sixers Coach Brett Brown Feels Embiid is All-Star Material

Philadelphia 76ers center Joel Embiid is a ”serious consideration” for the 2017 All-Star game, according to head coach Brett Brown.

The 22-year-old Embiid is having himself a spectacular rookie season, averaging 18.9 points on 46.9 % shooting from the field, alongside 7.5 rebounds and 2.4 blocks per game.

”There is no doubt in my mind that he is a serious consideration for [the All-Star spot],” Brown said. ”I mean he hasn’t done much wrong for him not to be legitimately considered for that game.”

Embiid, who missed his first two professional seasons due to injury, has lived up to the tremendous hype that was expected. He is looked upon as the first option and is quickly becoming one of the top centers in the Eastern Conference.

Nerlens Noel, a teammate of Embiid who plays the same position, agrees with coach Brett Brown.

“[Joel Embiid] has been putting up great numbers across the board,” Noel said. “He definitely should be in that conversation.”

Embiid himself admitted that he’d be happy to feature the 2017 NBA All-Star game in New Orleans.

”If it’s possible, it would be great [to make the All-Star Game] and especially as a rookie, that would be exciting. That’d be great.”

The Philadelphia 76ers will continue to quote-on-quote “Trust The Process” as Joel Embiid develops into a top-notch player. Whether or not Embiid will single handedly lead his team to wins is up for discussion, but if Philadelphia decides to build around him and he continues to develop, they could be a force in the Eastern Conference.
