Reggie Rose, The NBA’s Newest Star

During last night’s Game 4 between the Houston Rockets and the Minnesota Timberwolves, Derrick Rose played an amazing first half, scoring 11 quick points.

Was it even Derrick Rose? Or was it an identical twin we didn’t know of named Reggie? TNT announcer Kevin Harlan, who’s commentating partner is Reggie Miller, called Derrick Rose ‘Reggie’ numerous times throughout the night. He is well aware that Rose’s name is Derrick, but Harlan was addressing Reggie Miller, shortly before reffering to the plays Rose made. Since we can’t hear the comma (Reggie, Rose…), it always sounded like Harlan was calling Derrick Rose, Reggie Rose.

The funny thing is that Rose was only one of many Reggie’s that night. There also was Reggie Teague, Reggie Paul, Reggie Wiggins, Reggie Ariza, Reggie Gordon, and Reggie Green.

All jokes aside, the former MVP has really impressed in this series so far, showing glimpses of his old-self. He is one of the lone bright spots on the Wolves’ roster so far.

Through the four games, Rose has averaged 14.8 points and 2.8 assists in 23.8 minutes of action, while shooting 52% from the field and 71.4% from three.
