Lance Stephenson Wants To Convince Paul George To Stay In Indiana ‘Goodfellas Style’

I think Lance Stephenson watches too many movies.

Indiana Pacers superstar Paul George will become a free agent in 2018, making this upcoming NBA summer a very interesting one for the Pacers. If George makes an All-NBA team like last year, when he was part of the All NBA Third team, the Pacers can give him the $210 million designated player contract (George would be making $70 million more than anyone else) this summer. If not, or if for any strange reason George doesn’t want to stay, even though he would make $70 million more than the next best payed players, the Pacers have to consider trading him, maybe would even be forced to trade him. The risk would be too high to lose Paul George in the 2018 off season in return for nothing.

How are the Pacers planning to convince George to stay? Well, that’s the part where Lance Stephenson might watch too many movies. His plan is to go full mafia on Paul George and pull a ‘Goodfellas move’ on him.

On Fox Spors Radio in Indianapolis Stephenson said:

“I gotta get all my guys, tie him up on a chair, and say, ‘You ain’t going nowhere, Paul George’.”

I guess desperate times do call for desperate measures. It would’t be the first hostage-like scene to convince an NBA player to staying with the team. Remeber DeAndre?!
