David Fizdale Goes Off On Officials In EPIC Press Conference Including New All Time Great Catchphrase

The Memphis Grizzlies were down 20 points in the first half of game two against the San Antonio Spurs. They fought back, and were trailing by only 4 points before the Spurs hit back-to-back threes to take another big lead to decide the game for good.

After the game, Grizzlies coach David Fizdale completely went off on the officials, calling them “unprofessional.” He has a point, there were a lot of missed calls, most of them in favor of the Spurs.

The Spurs got to the free throw line 32 times last night, making 31 of them. Kawhi Leonard alone was 19 for 19 and had more free throws than the entire Grizzlies, who attempted just 15 free throws. Then after the game, Fizdale had the urge to stand up for his team. He’s got every right to do so, but a fine (most likely the usual $25k), seems to be inevitable.

While going off, Fizdale’s “They not gone rook us” will most likely become a classic. His press-conference ending catchphrase “take that for data” will not only be a classic, it became legendary the second he said it.

“I’m not gonna let them treat us that way. I know Pop’s got pedigree and I’m a young rookie, but they’re not gonna rook us. That’s unacceptable. That’s unprofessional. My guys dug in that game and earned the right to be in that game. And they did not even give us a chance. Take that for data!”
