Damian Lillard Is Disappointed About Russell Westbrook’s All-Star Comments

When the All-Star reserves were announced, some expected names were missing. Paul George being one of them. George’s teammate Russell Westbrook, who will be an All-Star again, wasn’t happy about George not being named an All-Star and vented a little in his post game interview:

“Unbelievable, it’s outrageous. I don’t know who else made the team, I know that four people from one team, or guys complaining about getting snubbed… they get in, guys that talk about it all the time. But guys who deserve to be in are not… I just don’t understand. A guy that leads the league in steals, competes every night, top two at his position, it don’t make any sense regardless of anything else. There are certain All-Stars in this league… everybody is not an All-Star just because you get voted in. But it is what it is…”

Damian Lillard, who was snubbed in recent years, was dissapointed about Westbrook’s statement. You don’t have to read between the lines to see that Westbrook took a shot a Lillard. Dame had the urge to respond and voice his dissapointment:

“I respect Russ a lot, so it was kind of disappointing to see him say that. Because he’s played against me, he’s played against our team, he knows what I’ve accomplished. Not just this year, but over my career. So it was a little bit disappointing, but I know that I earned my spot this year. And that’s pretty much what it is: I earned my spot.”
