The Car Derek Fisher Crashed Reportedly Belongs to Matt Barnes

This past Sunday, 5-time NBA Champion Derek Fisher was arrested on suspicion of DUI, after crashing a car. He was in the car with his girlfriend Gloria Govan.

Govan was married to Matt Barnes, before she started dating Fisher, which led to Barnes beating up Fisher, and other NBA players (familiar with Fisher) not trusting him anymore. This could also be a possible explanation why he hasn’t gotten another opportunity as an NBA head, or assistant coach.

A couple of months ago, Fisher said:

“If the worst thing someone has to say about me. Is that I’m now going out with a woman who used to be married to this guy I worked with for a year six years ago…”

He did break the unwritten code not to get involved with teammates’ families, so that is on him.

Back to the DUI story, the car Fisher crashed, belongs to and is registered to Matt Barnes. Barnes reportedly had given the car to Govan specifically for the kids.

This will probably lead to another part of the love-triangle saga. Matt Barnes was certainly not pleased when finding out.
