Alvin Gentry Offers To Trade Anthony Davis To Boston

New Orleans All-Star big man Anthony Davis has been the subject of many trade rumors recently. First, a possible trade to the Golden State Warriors was making news, then a trade to Boston during this trade window was discussed.

But, the Pelicans are not interested in trading their most valuable roster piece. Well, unless they would get something great in return.

When talking to the Boston Herald, New Orleans head coach Alvin Gentry shut down any possible Davis trades. Well, almost. He jokingly said that he would send Davis to Boston, if the City would be willing to part with the New England Patriots in return.

“I know there’s been rumors about Boston trying to trade for him or whatever, and my response to that is, yeah, we’ll trade him. But they’re going to have to give us the New England Patriots and the two planes that they just bought.

… And I don’t think they’re going to do that. So we’re not even thinking about those kind of things.”

Davis has been on a tear to start the year. This month, he is averaging an insane 30.4 points, 12 rebounds and 2,3 blocks while shooting  53% from the field and 87% from the line. It is more than understandable that the Pelicans want to keep him and his talents within the franchise.
